Brandon Black is a first-year student at the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law. He was born in El Paso, Texas, but raised in Knoxville, Tennessee. Brandon came to Colorado for college and graduated with a degree in Biochemistry from the University of Colorado Boulder. Following graduation, he spent time working as a research assistant studying cancer therapeutics before coming to law school.

Since coming to DU, Brandon has become a contributor to Race to the Bottom and a board member of OUTLaws. He is pursuing an Intellectual Property certificate and hopes to apply his biochemistry experience toward a career in patent law for the life sciences. In his spare time, Brandon loves hiking, cooking, and creative writing. He also enjoys studying languages and is proficient in Mandarin Chinese and Japanese.
